Grapes have been around in Switzerland for about 5000 years. Switzerland produces high
quality wines, particularly whites, but due to huge internal consumption and small
production, Swiss wine is not well known or easily found in the market.
And in 2004, Dominique Giroud received a special award at Vinitaly that recognized the
best Swiss winery for the consistent quality of its wines.
Founded in 1992, Giroud turned from a small wine business in the village of Chamoson, into a company that occupies around thirty employees and owns more than 50 hectares of vineyards. An exceptional crop of medals and awards from international wine competitions are proof that the winery's characteristic standards of excellence have never faltered.
